Another Administrative Professionals Week has come and gone and we couldn’t have been more thrilled by sharing the holiday with all of you. We asked readers to share how they celebrated the week and we were not disappointed. If you would also like to contribute, you can still do so by emailing OfficePro@iaap-hq.org.

We worked at Isla Magueyes- Marine Science Dept of the University of Puerto Rico. Yesterday we ate “empanadillas de Marlin”,  Ham and Cheese Sandwich and Orange Juice for breakfast. We share our experience and enjoy working together. Lilivette Valle has been here for 18 yrs and I’m celebrating 28 yrs. I’m CAP since 2006. Congratulations to all. -Zulma E. Martínez, CAP

A few local Kansas City area IAAP members plus one former member and a visitor, met last night for an after-work APW celebration at No Other Pub, a fun venue in the Power & Light District in downtown Kansas City. The marketing manager had reached out to IAAP Headquarters with an offer to host an event for APW with free appetizers and Kelli connected her with the LAN Directors in the area. We could not pass up the opportunity. The location was fairly convenient for those who work downtown. One attendee came so she could learn more about IAAP and decided she would join! I call that a successful APW Connections & Coffee event! One member who attended said “It was nice meeting new admins in the city.” We plan to put a good review on the venue’s website. -Terry Anderson, CAP, OM

Several of our employees attended an Administrative Professionals Day Conference held at a local technical college. We started the day with a hot breakfast buffet and heard from numerous motivational speakers; had a Q&A session with a panel of physicians, chiropractors and fitness instructors; had an opportunity to get a mini massage and visit vendor booths and ate a delicious hot lunch buffet. After lunch, we listened to speakers the rest of the afternoon on topics such as empowerment, leadership, awareness of the #metoo movement, disaster preparedness, and the importance of being a mentor. When we came in to work today, beautiful bouquets of flowers were sitting on our desks! It’s been a good week, and we feel blessed to work for such a great organization! Happy Administrative Professionals Day to you! -Natalie Geiger, CAP, OM

April 25, 2018 – Pinot’s Palette, Princeton, NJ our Employee Resource Group for Administrative Professionals held a lunch and Teambuilding celebration. We created a jigsaw painting. Each participant had to paint a canvas that was one part of a larger picture. The canvases are assembled together to create one collaborative painting! Happy Administrative Professionals Week! -Nancy Loretangeli CAP, OM

My name is Kim Weichel and I work at FSA – Friends Services for the Aging in Blue Bell, PA. FSA celebrates their Administrative Professionals by sending flowers (photo below) to each of us. The flowers are a representation of the individuals favorite colors and style (there is a lot of thought given to the individual recipient) and a lunch is shared with the office staff. As we are a very busy office and often we all have many balls in the air, it is nice to know that the Senior Leaders of FSA appreciate the work that we do to assist them in their day to day positions. I am truly grateful. -Kim Weichel
